INSURANCE BLOG SERIES!

Two years ago I embarked on a journey towards my Bachelor's degree in INSURANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT at the Institute of Finance Management in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. At first, I did not think much of insurance and did not really know what I was getting myself into. But over time I have come to really love the field, and appreciate its relevance in the modern era of our economic systems.

I have decided to start off a blog series where I will be talking everything INSURANCE, especially from the Tanzanian insurance industry perspective. At around 0.53% penetration rate (tanzaniainvest,2020), our country’s insurance sector is really underperforming compared to other neighbouring countries, but that also means the sector has a lot of potential for growth. 

Please join me as I explore this amazing and relevant field that literally supports our global economic ecosystem. I will be discussing different insurance policies offered in our market, the key players of the market, the changes in the country’s legislation with regard to the insurance sector and different processes involved in insurance such as underwriting management and claims management.
